Same-Day Funeral Programmes

A funeral or memorial programme guides mourners through the service and is often kept as a keepsake. We understand families are arranging a great deal in very little time, so this service focuses on clear, careful printing of programmes, order-of-service cards and memorial booklets, with practical guidance to help avoid errors.

Artwork requirements

Please have one family member check and approve the proof, especially the spelling of names, dates of birth and passing, and the venue and time.
Check hymn numbers, readings and the order of service against what has been agreed with the officiant.
Send the original photo file where possible; photos forwarded through messaging apps or copied from social media are often low quality.
Old printed photographs can be scanned, but scratches, fading and small originals limit how large they can be printed.
For booklets, the page count must be a multiple of four, so blank or photo pages may be added to balance it.
Supply a PDF if the programme was designed elsewhere; if typing from a template, send all text in one message or document.

Turnaround options

We know funeral dates leave little room, so where possible we prioritise clear communication about what can be done in time. Standard turnaround gives the family time to review a proof calmly. Express shortens the wait. Same-day is possible for folded programmes and simple booklets, subject to product eligibility, stock, capacity, quantity, artwork readiness and finishing, with full payment, usable artwork and approvals before the configured cutoff; the 40% Same-Day Priority Production surcharge applies to the eligible printing and production subtotal, and design or typesetting help is a separate artwork service. Late changes to names or the order of service, waiting for photos, design from scratch, higher page counts or large quantities can push a job off same-day. Production completion and delivery to the venue are separate, so please allow time for collection or delivery before the service.

How many programmes should we print?

Families usually base the number on expected attendance, plus some extra for family keepsakes. Your funeral home or church can often advise on likely numbers.

Can you design the programme for us?

Yes. Design and typesetting are available as a separate artwork service. A simple layout with one cover photo and the order of service is the quickest to prepare and approve.

The only photo we have is on a phone or an old print. Will it work?

Usually, yes. Send the original file from the phone gallery rather than a forwarded copy. Old prints can be scanned; we will let you know if a photo is likely to print soft at the size you want.

What is the most important thing to check?

Names, dates, the venue and time, and the order of service. Ask a second person to read the proof slowly, as mistakes are easy to miss under stress.
