Materials
| Reflective vinyl on aluminium | Signs reused across projects and visible at night |

| Reflective vinyl on correx | Temporary signs that still need night-time visibility |
Choosing a size
Temporary signs should be placed well before the work zone so drivers can adjust speed and position. Signs on frames or stands must be large enough to read from a moving vehicle; on slow private roads, A2 or A1 panels are often workable, while busier roads need the formats set out in the SARTSM.
Standards and compliance
Temporary traffic control in South Africa is covered by the SA Road Traffic Signs Manual (SARTSM), which includes a dedicated volume on temporary signs, typically using yellow-backed signs for roadworks. Work on public roads requires approval and an accommodation-of-traffic plan from the road authority. The customer remains responsible for the traffic plan and legal requirements; we print to the artwork or specification supplied or agreed.
