Same-Day Priority Production Terms

Draft for review

PLEASE PLAN AHEAD. Same-day printing is there for genuine emergencies, but it is not 100% foolproof against poor planning. For important business events on your calendar, please give yourself 3 to 7 days to print.
DRAFT POLICY. This policy is a draft that must be reviewed by a legal adviser before launch. It can be edited before publication.

Draft notice

This is a draft policy prepared for legal review before launch. It is not yet in force and may change.

1. What Same-Day Priority Production means

Same-Day Priority Production is an optional service in which an eligible job, once accepted by SAMEDAY PRINT, is scheduled ahead of other work with the aim of completing production on the same working day. It is a production service only. It does not include, and is separate from, delivery.

2. Eligibility

Same-day production is not available for every product, quantity or specification. A same-day request can be accepted only if all of the following allow it:

  • Product eligibility: the product and options selected must be marked as eligible for same-day
  • Stock: the required materials, substrates and garments must be in stock
  • Capacity: production capacity must be available on the day
  • Quantity: the quantity ordered must be within what can be produced on the day
  • Artwork: usable, print-ready artwork must be supplied
  • Finishing: the required finishing must be achievable on the day

3. Payment, artwork and approvals before the cutoff

For a same-day request to be considered, all of the following must be received before the configured cutoff for that product on that working day:

  • Full payment, received and verified
  • Usable artwork that does not require correction
  • All required approvals, including proof approval where a proof applies

4. Cutoffs

Cutoffs are set per product and per working day and are shown during ordering. They may differ between products and between days. A request received after the applicable cutoff will not be treated as a same-day request for that day.

5. Acceptance and ready time

Placing an order with a same-day option selected is a request, not an accepted commitment. A same-day job is accepted only when SAMEDAY PRINT confirms acceptance. A ready time for production completion is confirmed after acceptance.

6. Artwork corrections and late approvals

If artwork needs correction, or if a proof or other approval is received late, the completion time changes. Depending on the timing, the job may no longer be achievable on the same day. Where this happens because of a customer delay, the situation is handled under clause 9.

7. Production completion and delivery arrival are separate

The confirmed ready time refers to completion of production only. Delivery arrival is a separate matter and depends on the delivery option selected, distance, traffic and courier or driver schedules. A same-day production commitment is not a commitment that the order will be delivered on the same day.

8. Specialist finishes and large orders

Specialist finishes, complex finishing and large orders may need longer than same-day and may not be eligible, even where the base product is eligible in other specifications.

9. When same-day cannot be accepted

If a same-day request cannot be accepted, SAMEDAY PRINT will tell you and offer alternatives, such as express or standard turnaround, before any same-day surcharge is collected. You may choose an alternative or, where the order has not started, cancel in line with the general terms.

Where a same-day job was accepted but the completion time changes because of late artwork, artwork corrections or late approvals by the customer, SAMEDAY PRINT will inform you of the revised completion time. How any surcharge is treated in that case is to be confirmed in legal review and will be applied consistently with applicable law.

10. When an accepted same-day commitment cannot be met

If SAMEDAY PRINT accepts a same-day commitment and then cannot meet it, you will be notified and the unearned priority surcharge will be refunded, together with any other remedy required by law.

11. The 40% surcharge

Same-Day Priority Production carries a surcharge of 40%. The surcharge:

  • applies once, to the eligible printing and production subtotal only
  • does not apply to delivery fees
  • does not apply to separate artwork or design services
  • is shown separately from VAT, where applicable, and delivery

12. Mixed orders

Where an order contains same-day items and items on other turnarounds, only the eligible same-day items attract the surcharge, and the order may be fulfilled in parts.

13. Your rights

Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under applicable law, including the Consumer Protection Act, 2008 where it applies. Questions about these terms can be sent to info@samedayprint.co.za.
