Same-Day Wire Binding

Wire binding, also called wire-o binding, uses a double loop of metal wire through punched holes so pages open flat and fold right back. It suits proposals, annual reports, manuals, notebooks and desk calendars where a professional finish and easy page turning matter.

Artwork requirements

Keep at least 12 to 15 mm clear on the binding edge so holes do not cut through text.
Tell us the total sheet count (not page count) so the right wire diameter can be chosen.
For landscape documents, say whether binding goes on the short or long edge.
If you want printed covers, supply them as separate pages in the PDF.
For calendars, supply months in order and indicate where the hanger cut-out should be.

Turnaround options

Wire binding is done copy by copy, so standard turnaround suits larger quantities. Express is available when a meeting or submission is close. Same-day binding is possible for printed documents or your own pre-printed sheets, subject to product eligibility, stock, capacity, quantity, artwork readiness and finishing, with full payment, usable files and approvals before the configured cutoff; the 40% Same-Day Priority Production surcharge applies to the eligible printing and production subtotal. Thick documents beyond our largest wire, unusual sizes, many copies or wire colours not in stock push a job off same-day.

FAQs

What is the difference between wire and comb binding?

Wire looks more polished and lies flat with pages turning fully back. Comb binding is plastic and can be opened to add or remove pages. Wire cannot easily be reopened.

Can you bind documents I printed myself?

Yes. Bring the printed sheets in order. We can add covers and bind them.

How thick a document can you wire bind?

It depends on the wire diameters in stock. Tell us the sheet count and paper weight and we will confirm. Very thick documents may need splitting or comb binding.

Do the pages stay aligned?

Yes. Wire holds pages firmly in register, which is why it is often chosen for calendars and notebooks.
