Materials
| Engineering-grade reflective vinyl | General signage needing night visibility at lower cost |
|---|---|
| High-intensity reflective vinyl | Signs that must be seen from further away or at higher speeds |
| Reflective vinyl on aluminium | Durable outdoor road and gate signs |
| Reflective vinyl on correx | Temporary signs that need some night visibility |
Choosing a size
Reflective signs follow the same sizing logic as non-reflective signs, but their night-time visibility depends on headlight angle and distance, so mount them where headlights will reach and avoid tilting them away from approaching traffic. Larger sign faces return more light and are easier to read from further back.
Standards and compliance
Road signs in South Africa follow the SA Road Traffic Signs Manual (SARTSM), which also deals with retroreflective materials for official signs, and workplace safety signs commonly follow SANS 1186. If your project specifies a particular reflective grade, tell us before ordering so we can confirm whether available stock matches. The customer remains responsible for choosing compliant signage; we print to the artwork or specification supplied or agreed.
