Choosing a size
Accessible bay signs should be mounted where they remain visible when a vehicle is parked in the bay, typically on a pole or wall at the head of the bay. A3 portrait is a widely used format. Directional signs leading to accessible entrances should be placed at decision points along the route.
Standards and compliance
Accessibility in South African buildings is addressed in the National Building Regulations, with SANS 10400 Part S covering facilities for persons with disabilities, including parking. Bays on public roads fall under the SA Road Traffic Signs Manual and municipal control. The customer remains responsible for the number, placement and specification of accessible bays and signs; we print to the artwork or specification supplied or agreed.
