Choosing a size
Information signs are usually read by people who have stopped or slowed down, so they can be smaller than hazard signs. Door and room signs are often A5 or smaller, reception notices A4, and gate or entrance boards A3 and up. Large blocks of text should be broken into short lines with a clear heading.
Standards and compliance
General information signs do not usually carry legal symbol requirements, but if your sign includes safety symbols, South African workplaces commonly follow SANS 1186. Some notices, such as certain workplace or consumer notices, may have content requirements under specific laws. The customer remains responsible for the wording and for any legal requirements; we print to the artwork or text supplied or agreed.
